The third Vietnam International Book Fair, under the theme “Celebrating 1,000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi”, will be held in Hanoi from September 17-21.

More than 40 publishing houses, 33 book distribution companies, a printing joint stock company and several leading firms from Germany, China, and Southeast Asia will display their publications at the event.

On display will be the first encyclopedia of Hanoi, a collection related to 1,000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi, and books published under a project celebrating the capital’s birthday.

The fair will promote international barcode registration for Vietnamese books to facilitate their distribution in the international market.

The Vietnam International Book Fair was first held in 2005 and is currently held every two years.
