Vietnam proposes UNESCO 2 new world heritages

Vietnam officially submitted two new profiles for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisaton (UNESO)’s “World Memory” programme in Asia-Pacific on November 30.

The first profile submitted are the steles in the Literature Temple in Hanoi constructed under the Le-Mac dynasties (1442-1779).

Also entered was the Dong Van’s stone plateau in northern province of Ha Giang for World Geological Park.

Covering the area of 574km2, the plateau is located in four mountainous districts including Quang Ba, Yen Van, Meo Vac and Dong Van of the northern province of Ha Giang. It contains 40 heritage areas with valuable evidence about the Earth’s evolution, rock formations, caves and valleys.

The results will be announced by UNSECO in early 2010.
