The unique arts program at the opening ceremony featured a harmonious combination between the tradition and modern, as well as between Vietnamese cultural identities and the world’s cultural quintessence. The performances featured both the sea and island cultures in the process of national construction and defense.
The firework display at the ceremony also left a deep impression on audiences.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam emphasised that all people should join hands in order to make Vietnam, particularly the city of Nha Trang, safer, more beautiful, attractive and friendly.
He called for the relevant agencies and local people to create a favorable environment for investors to bring tourism into a spearhead economic sector, contributing to the country’s rapid and sustainable development.
The four-day festival will feature 50 festive, cultural, sporting and economic activities, as well as scientific seminars, including Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest festival, street festivals, traditional food contests, folk games, swimming competitions and sea volleyball and football tournaments.
In addition to the performances of art troupes from Khanh Hoa and other localities in the country, the 2017 Nha Trang Sea Festival will also feature the participation of international artists from Spain, the Republic of Korea, Australia and Russia.
