On February 28th, Ha Long Bay Management Board held a conference to summary Ecoboat Project Phase II (8/2008 - 03/2012).

     Eco-boat (Ecoboat) is an extracurricular classes on environmental protection in Ha Long Bay - Quang Ninh. This project was funded by the Darwin Initiative, UK and Sanstos Petroleum Corporation of Australia, implemented from 8/2005 to date by the Fauna and Flora International (FFI) and Ha Long Bay Management Board to coordinate implementation, the model organizes field trips to study the ecology and environment of Ha Long Bay for pupils, students ... The project was developed with the participation of the Department of Education - Training and Provincial Youth Union, Youth Union of Democratic political parties ... The project is divided into 2 phases.Phase I from May / 2005 - 8/2008 organized by FFI direct management. Phase II from 3/2009 - 3/2012 project was formally transferred to Ha Long Bay Management Department operations.

     In phase II, 114 EcoBoat trips was organized, with a total of nearly 4,500 people participated, including: 105 for local trips with 4,000 participants, which are mainly students, youth, communities; 09 international trips for 500 students and teachers of schools from Singapore, there are international trips last from 3 to 5 days on the Bay. In addition, the project also organized many exhibitions many times, the competition to raise awareness of environmental protection heritage, printing of publications in many different topics related to environmental protection and diversity Bio Bay.



     With the motto "learning the game, played by the school", with access to reality, Ecoboat help students realize the dangers, threats are affecting the Gulf environment, and discuss, play express ideas and build solutions for environmental protection of Ha Long Bay; raise awareness of heritage protection - the world's natural wonders of Halong Bay.

     At the conference, Ha Long Bay Management Board was commended for organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in project implementation phase EcoBoat.

     This project also help to protect the environment in the Bay and increase more Halong cruises and develop Vietnam's tourism!
