Buffalo is very familiar with Vietnamese farmers and the buffalo has appeared in the wet rice cultivation. So, buffalo is the traditional symbol of Vietnam.

The water buffalo is the traditional symbol of Vietnam. It represents bravery, happiness and prosperity. Buffalos played a very important role in Vietnamese agriculture. They were a farmer’s most valued possession and were often treated as a part of the family.
